Roma, Roma, Roma
I can't believe I've been in Roma for over a month! The time has absolutely flown by. Teaching children who speak a different language is more difficult that I could have ever imagined. However, I am getting used to it and love it! Some days are more difficult that others, but that is how every job is.
I love living in this beautiful city. I love walking around on the narrow cobblestoned streets and looking at the gorgeous buildings all around me. My favorite landmark is probably the Pantheon. I love the history of this city, but the fact that the Pantheon is surrounded by pizzerias and residential buildings is amazing! They literally built around all the landmarks, but especially this one. I just love it! I also love the squares with fountains that you find everywhere here! I enjoy people watching almost as much as I enjoy movies, so the fact that I can do that everywhere I go here is a dream come true! Just sitting on the Spanish Steps for thirty minutes is so entertaining. I don't recognize the languages people around me are speaking, just the fact that people come from all around the world to this city is mindblowing!
My apartment is located very close to Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica. I have almost gotten over the fact that walking down the street you can see the Vatican- how cool is that? I have yet to go in it, but it will happen at some point. The lines to get into the museum are so long all the time! And I know once I go, I'll want to continually go in and just sit and stare. There are so many things I still want to do in this city, and even though I'm living here for 10 months(actually only 9 left now), I don't know if I will be able to fit it all in!
I've been horrible about blogging and I'm very sorry, I will definitely be working on that more, especially because I now have internet in my apartment! It's not very reliable, but it does work sometimes!
Ciao for now!
